BUILDING FIRM GETS THE ABBEY HABIT
A construction firm has opened its new offices in a historic business centre it helped transform.
Yeovil based Bartlett, which is part of the property solutions group Rok, has taken space in the Abbey Business Centre, Preston Road, a mixture of new and refurbished buildings providing modern, managed office suites in the landscaped grounds of the grade I listed manor house.
The opening, performed by Mayor Julian Freke, was a double celebration for the firm, as it also marked the successful completion of the building element of the project for which it had been responsible.
Most of the suites in the new centre owned by developers Abbey Manor Group have already been taken and Managing Director, Nigel Timmis, said they were proving extremely popular because they combined picturesque surroundings with contemporary interiors and generous parking. "We are delighted with Bartlett's performance and the way in which the new buildings, with their use of local stone, blend so well with the old ones" said Nigel.
Despite its name, Abbey Farm is one of the largest and finest ancient secular buildings in Yeovil, built almost 600 years ago with part of it scheduled as an ancient monument.
